Thursday 13th April – Socceroof, Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
On April 13th, >400 people descended upon Sunset Park, Brooklyn, where we hosted our second marquee event featuring football and networking.
Our title sponsors OpenSea and Pudgy Penguins led the way in custom kits by our partner PUMA, with their founders and community all representing on the pitch. Liquid Death, one of the fastest growing beverage companies in the world, debuted new drinks. Americana, a Seven Seven Six Ventures-funded digital goods marketplace, rounded out our sponsors.
Play was free, and the venue featured an open environment that included the OpenSea Networking Lounge, a W3FC Tournament, and an activation by the artist Vinnie Hager. The tournament saw 16 teams enter, ranging from NFT projects to NFT marketplaces, all competing for a chance to make it to the knockout stages. After hours of friendly and competitive footy, AC Momento were crowned as victors. As the event wrapped up, attendees enjoyed a breathtaking view of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty from the Socceroof terrace while receiving a post-tournament briefing and prizes.
We’d like to think our attendees loved it. “W3FC002 was everything we were hoping for and more,” said a representative from OpenSea. “It was an incredible opportunity to network with other like-minded individuals while also enjoying some friendly competition on the pitch.”
The W3FC community continues to grow and thrive, with plans for future events already in the works.
We want to extend our ultimate thanks to our amazing sponsors: Opensea, Pudgy Penguins, Americana, Liquid Death, and Pitch Web3.
